It really makes me nervous when one of the people who could potentially be Vice President - or PRESIDENT, if the need arises - doesn’t know what the “Bush Doctrine” is.

Maybe nervous isn’t the right word.

More like pissed off.

Jacob Weisberg, in his book “The Bush Tragedy,” actually identified six Bush Doctrines:

Bush Doctrine 1.0 (3/7/99—9/10/01): Unipolar Realism;

Bush Doctrine 2.0 (9/11/01—5/31/02): With Us or Against Us;

Bush Doctrine 3.0 (6/1/02—11/5/03):  Preemption;

Bush Doctrine 4.0 (11/6/03—1/19/05):  Democracy in the Middle East;

Bush Doctrine 5.0 (1/20/05— 11/7/06):   Freedom Everywhere;

Bush Doctrine 6.0 (11/8/06 to date):  ”absence of any functioning doctrine at all.”
