music that I wrote and recorded on my old Tascam 414 cassette 4-track.
Age 18 or 19. Written in a brief period when there was talk of a Screeching Weasel-style pop punk band with a couple of my friends as a side project. The drums (as most of my songs from this era) were from a Casio Keyboard. The guitar is a borrowed Telecaster played through a tweed amp. It was originally written about a girl, but her name was so unique, there’d have been no mystery as to who it was about among my friends, so I changed it to being about “Sharky,” a character my roommate contrived to prank call a wheelchair store.
Bonus: at the very last second, you can hear a vintage late-90’s ringtone in the background.
